Le Château de Bel Ombre
The most naturally beautiful location in Mauritius
Some places have a soul of their own.
The estate draws its heritage from the history of Mauritius and the former sugar factory of Bel Ombre. Alleys bordered by royal palm trees, French formal gardens or the ruins of the former factory, which have since then been restored into a small touristic area, create a unique decor.
Built during the nineteenth century, the Château de Bel Ombre has since then been tastefully restored into one of the best fine dining restaurants of the island. Rising above the golf course, the vast sugar estate house seemingly keeps watch over the Domaine, as it has for hundreds of years.
